Woo-hoo, it's the weekend!

It's the end of a long week, the kids are in bed, and we are kicking back and having a few drinks!
The kids both have colds and have been a little fussy. Yesterday Xavier fell and hit his head on the edge of a wooden stool. He got a huge knot and it was bleeding a little bit. Didn't look bad enough for stiches, but he cried forever and after he went to bed last night, he woke up puking. I kind of wonder if he had a concussion. He seems fine today though.

Our dishwasher broke this week. We bought it only 2 years ago right when we moved in here. Not sure what's wrong with it. The lights all light up, it just won't turn on. We aren't even going to bother trying to have it fixed because it has never really cleaned the dishes very well and has been progressively getting worse. We've never been happy with it but didn't buy the warranty. It's a brand name dishwasher, and not cheap so I think we just got a lemon. Anyway, we just had to get a new oven a couple months ago too. I really wanted to upgrade to stainless appliances at that time, but since we thought the rest of our appliances would hold out, we just went with white again. If we would have known we'd be getting a new dishwasher too, we would have just gone ahead and upgraded to the stainless. Not that any of this is in the budget. Ha....budget! What's that??

Which brings me to our other news. Kendall had 2 jobs that he was really hoping for, and he got denial emails today for both. Happy Friday. The one he really wanted was with a credit union in Roseville, the other was a branch manager in Duluth. He has absolutely no other prospects now and we are both pretty much freaking out about what's going to happen to us.

Well, tomorrow Amayah starts swimming lessons again (Xavier was supposed to start too but there weren't enough kids for his class so it got cancelled), then she has a birthday party to go to for her friend Ripley. Then, we'll go dishwasher shopping.

I have to remember to buy a Powerball for Saturday :)

Another week is here

Today was a busy day, and will be an even busier week. Whew, I'm exhaused just thinking about it. It seems like the older we get, the busier we are, and the harder it is to keep up with life. It just flies by before you even know it!
In a way it's nice with Kendall being out of work, because he is home to help out with my never ending To Do list and with the kids. It's nice having him home more to help out with some of the responsibilities. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait for him to find a job and start bringing home a paycheck, but it's also going to be hard going back to him being gone 10 hours a day.
After completing a few projects around the house and picking Amayah up from school, we went over to my parent's house. My grandma is in town and leaves to go back to Florida tomorrow morning. It's sad to see her go b/c who knows when I'll see her next. I wish I could have grown up more around my grandparents, I really feel like I missed out. She loved visiting and seeing A & X...it was cute b/c today Xavier was really cuddly with her and started calling her 'Me-Ma'. I think grandma really got a kick out of that :)
Oh-after we picked up Amayah from school I was trying to talk to her in the car and asking her how her day was. She said to me, "I don't want to talk to you mom, I only want to talk to my Daddy". OMG, I wanted to cry. But, I persisted and kept trying to talk to her and ask her questions, but she seriously wouldn't talk to me. So then she was talking to Kendall and telling him about her day and I asked a question and she said, "I wasn't talking to you mom". WTF?! She's only 3, this wasn't supposed to happen until the teen years. It makes me so sad how fast she's growing up!

I heard about this site from Sarah, my sister-in-law, so I thought I'd give it a try. I think if I can find the time to keep up with it, that this might be a great idea for family and friends to stay up to date on our lives! It seems that everyone is so busy and finding the time to get together with people is getting harder and harder. This way people can stay in the loop and get to see current photos of the kids!
